Assignment: Create a logo for a tourism board of a real location. Then use the logo in combination with type to create letterhead, envelopes, and business cards for the tourism board.
Approach: I chose to design for Wildwood, New Jersey, a place where my family vacations to in the summer. Two of the main attractions of Wildwood is the pier and the beach, which I incorporated into my logo by adding amusement park rides to the mascot's shirt as well as a wave closing off the background circle. The wave is also applied as a decorative detail on the letterhead, envelope, and business card.
Result: The final logo and mock-ups encompass Wildwood's fun-loving mood while showcasing the main attractions of the tourist hot-spot in the summer.
